This is a big piece for me. It is the first execution of a concept. The merging of 2-D and 3-D art. By using only two materials, acrylic paint (opaque) and epoxy resin (clear), I can create a 3-D sculpture inside a 2-D painting. Each color is floating on a one-quarter inch layer of clear epoxy resin. From the depths of the ocean bottom to Hokaido's peaks is only four inches.
